Date: December 18, 2006 Contact: Hundreds of underprivileged Latino families will have a special dinner and gifts this Christmas! INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana—Morales Group, Inc partnered once again with the Latino Community Development (LCD) to support the traditional Christmas charitable event Santa Comes to Town for the third straight year. The event benefits disadvantaged Latino families in Indianapolis. On December 13, hundreds of people came to the Blue Ribbon pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds to receive a free turkey, groceries, and toys. More than 4,200 Latino families have been helped during the Holidays. Tom Morales, president and CEO of Morales Group and a board member of LCD, personally directed the Morales volunteering operation. “The needs of the growing Latino community are prevalent during the Holidays specially for new immigrants,” Tom Morales, said. “Santa Comes to Town reminds me of the importance of sharing our blessings with our Latino neighbors during this special time of the year.” Morales Group volunteered by providing: warehousing space for collection of food and supplies at no cost, helped with more than twenty paid staff to assist with set up and clean up before and after the event. The company also assisted LCD with event planning and fund raising. The Latino Community Development Corporation was formed to help less fortunate families in Central Indiana during transitional times. The organization provides local support, cultural awareness, vocational training, and holiday charity assistance.
